Studi Korelasi Pola Distribusi Curah Hujan dan Indeks ENSO di Cekungan Bandung

Objektif studi ini adalah korelasi antara pola distribusi curah hujan bulanan di kawasan cekungan Bandung dengan fenomena iklim global yang diwakili oleh nilai indeks ENSO. Posisi wilayah Nusantara yang berada di garis equator, diantara dua samudera dan benua memberikan dampak adanya variabilitas distribusi pola curah hujan karena adanya faktor sirkulasi Hadley dan Walke, aktifitas Monsoon, ENSO dan Indian Ocean Dipole Mode. Curah hujan di Indonesia terutama dipengaruhi oleh Monsun dan Indian Ocean Dipole Mode. Dengan mengetahui tingkat korelasi antara perubahan indeks ENSO terhadap variabilitas distribusi curah hujan di cekungan Bandung diharapkan dapat dilakukan tindakan mitigasi dan adaptasi dalam rangka pengelolaan sumber daya air di kawasan ini.
Data series yang digunakan adalah data curah hujan bulanan yang diinterpolasi dari 19 stasiun, dan tersebar di lokasi studi, selama periode tahun 1986 hingga 2004. Analisis statistik dilakukan pada data anomali curah hujan rata-rata tiga bulanan dengan data model nino indeks 3,4. Prosessing data dilakukan dengan menggunakan perangkat KNMI explorer dengan menerapkan filter high pass untuk menfokuskan pada signal annual-interannual dan menghilangkan pengaruh signal frekuensi rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan korelasi positif sebesar 0,7 antara curah hujan di Cekungan Bandung dengan data model nino indeks 3,4.
Korelasi sebesar 70% menunjukkan nilai yang siknifikan, artinya fenomena iklim global menjadi bagian penting dalam kajian pengelolaan sumberdaya air selain faktor lokal yaitu perubahanan lahan secara suksesif di lokasi studi. Tindakan mitigasi perlu dilakukan dengan pola penggunaan lahan dan ruang yang terbatas, khususnya di kawasan konservasi. Sedangkan tindakan adaptasi dilakukan dengan tujuan menghemat dan menyimpan air dalam bentuk reforestasi maupun pembuatan kolam/embung/waduk. Baik upaya mitigasi maupun adaptasi dilakukan guna menjaga kontiunitas sumber daya air yang merupakan kebutuhan pokok manusia dan makhluk hidup lainnya.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find the correlation between the distribution patterns of monthly rainfall in Bandung basin area and global climate phenomena represented by the value of ENSO indices. Nusantara region’s position in the equator line, between two oceans and continents, impacts the variability of rainfall distribution patterns because of the Hadley and Walke circulation factor, Monsoon activities, ENSO and the Indian Ocean Dipole Mode. Rainfall in Indonesia is mainly influenced by the monsoon and the Indian Ocean Dipole Mode. By knowing the correlation between ENSO index change and the variability of rainfall distribution in the Bandung Basin, it is expected to be able to do mitigation and adaptation measures in the framework water resources management in this area.
The data series used is the monthly rainfall data that were interpolated from 19 stations, which are spread in the study area, during the period of 1986 to 2004. Statistical analysis performed on three monthly average rainfall anomaly data and data from the model 3.4 Nino index. Data processing is done by using the explorer KNMI software by applying high-pass filter to focus on annual, interannual signal and eliminate the influence of low frequency signal. The results showed a positive correlation of 0.7 between the rainfalls in Bandung Basin with the model 3.4 Nino index data.
The correlation of 70% indicates significant value, meaning that the phenomenon of global climate becomes an important part in the study of water resource management in addition to local factor which is the successive landuse changes in the study locations. Mitigation actions need to be done with the pattern of land use and space is limited, especially in conservation areas. While adaptation measures undertaken with the aim to save and store water in the form of reforestation and creating ponds or reservoirs. Both mitigation and adaptation efforts should be done made to maintain water resources continuity, which is a basic requirement of human and other living creatures.
